SCHOOLS FILLED WITH UNQUALIFIED STAFF

EASTERN Cape schools have been forced to hire an estimated 4000 un- or under-qualified personnel due to the desperate shortage of skilled teachers around the country.

“Some of these unqualified educators, however, are highly qualified in critical subjects like mathematics, science and accounting,” said DA spokesman for education Edmund van Vuuren. “Most have worked in the private sector and are offered compatible salaries by the school governing bodies.  Read the full story in the Weekend Post.
