  • Public works incapacity causes infrastructure cost to rocket

“Non-cooperation by the SAPS with the department is crippling oversight in the Eastern Cape”

  • There is non-cooperation between the SAPS and the department with regard to implementation of service delivery recommendations. See page 4 of the Portfolio Committee’s report.
  • The quarterly engagements between the department and the SAPS with regard to oversight were canned by the SAPS.
  • The department has produced 84 reports on service delivery complaints that it has received against the SAPS.
