EASTERN CAPE RECEIVES DROP IN THE MONEY BUCKET FOR DROUGHT RELIEF

THE Eastern Cape Government has received only R68-million of the R1,3-billion originally requested from national government for urgently needed drought relief.

The drought has reached critical levels in large parts of the province, yet Local Government and Traditional Affairs MEC Sicelo Gqobana said national treasury had initially asked the province to reduce the amount requested.
