EASTERN CAPE SHARE OF NATIONAL COFFERS INCREASED BY R2,8 BN

THE Eastern Cape government has been allocated R40,1-billion as its equitable share of national revenue for the next financial year, R2,8-billion more than it received for 2009/10.

Commenting on the provincial equitable share allocation, DA finance spokesman Bobby Stevenson said given that the equitable share was R2,8-billion more meant the over-spending of R2,6-million in the current financial year would eat this up, while the province was also potentially exposed to a further R600-million in back pay.  Read the full story in The Herald.
