THE Eastern Cape government was in “general agreement” on the need to review the equitable share formula in terms of which the provinces were allocated funds by the national Treasury, Finance MEC Mcebisi Jonas said yesterday.
DA member Bobby Stevenson said during the debate that one of the key recommendations of the report was the need to review the formula for the allocation of the equitable share, particularly the weighting given to the poverty component. Read the full story in The Herald.
