THE Eastern Cape Liquor Board has come under fire for trying to pass off last year’s budget and strategic plan as being a new one for this financial year. The presentation, meant to be made to the Economic Development and Environment Department portfolio committee last Friday, had to be postponed after it was revealed that the Board had not prepared new documents.
The Democratic Alliance’s John Cupido, who sits on the committee, said the Liquor Board had yet again been exposed for its fraudulent “mistakes”, an indication that sobriety was seriously lacking in getting even the basics right. Read the full story in the Daily Dispatch.
