While the DA MPL’s are hard at work around the province, their secretaries are just as busy dealing with queries which vary from liquor licenses to social grants and pensions, non-payments and poor medical care to name a few.
Information available indicates that the four Bhisho secretaries have been dealing with a total of 705 queries since January this year. This includes 394 matters which are in progress and a further 311 which have been resolved.
These queries do not include ones that are solved by one of two phone calls to the right people in the right departments, but more complicated issues. In some cases it can take months of continuous probing and following-up to get an outcome from the top-heavy, overloaded and he slow bureaucratic monster that is government.
We salute the Bhisho secretaries for the perseverance and extreme patience.
