A BID by Bhisho to restrict candidates for vacant principal posts to their own employees could land the Eastern Cape Education Department in court. The action is threatened by the Federation of Governing Bodies of SA Schools Eastern Cape.
The Democratic Alliance’s provincial spokesperson for education, Edmund Van Vuuren, said it was contradictory to the Constitution for the posts to be restricted to the Eastern Cape. “With the bulletin closed, educators across the country are robbed of the opportunity to exercise their constitutionally enshrined right to a job for which they qualify.” Read the full story in the Daily Dispatch.
