FROM KOU-KAMMA TO AMATHOLE DAMS ARE RUNNING DRY

AS the water crisis continues in Nelson Mandela Bay, other Eastern Cape municipalities are now also suffering from severe shortages, with many dams being declared “bone dry”.

The DA blames the water crisis on a lack of planning by the Eastern Cape Local Government Department. “With 70% of Mthatha water lost through leaks and 37% of water in Mandela Bay lost in the same way, clearly maintenance of water infrastructure is a huge priority,” said DA MPL Dacre Haddon.  Read the full story in The Herald.
