AS was recently reported, Bayworld in Port Elizabeth is very quickly running out of money (“Bayworld just weeks away from running out of funds”, The Herald, August 9). Inaction from the MEC has proven she has had no intention to keep the promises made by herself or her department.
The plight of the Bayworld facility in the past few years has consistently been reported in the media. After consistent pressure from myself in the Legislature and the community at large, Sport, Recreation, Arts and Culture MEC Xoliswa Tom offered her full support and that of her department in helping Port Elizabeth’s premier tourist attraction be restored or upgraded to the international quality facility that the province consistently claims it to be.
