A CONTROVERSIAL former top municipal official who has twice been either suspended or fired from senior positions following allegations of “gross mismanagement” and corruption has now been put in charge of a government unit tasked with improving municipal audit reports.
Disgraced former Sundays River Valley municipal manager Siphiwo Sohena was recently appointed head of Operation Clean Audit 2014 – which falls under the Local Government and Traditional Affairs Department.
Local government and traditional affairs committee member Veliswa Mvenya MPL said Operation Clean Audit had been given a budget of R30-million. Read the full story in the Weekend Post.
