The Eastern Cape is among three provinces calling for a debate on the nationalisation of mines to be put on the agenda at the ANC national general council (NGC) next week. This comes after the ANC Youth League (ANCYL) managed to “convince” the three ANC provincial structures, including KwaZulu-Natal and Gauteng, to take its proposal for the nationalisation of mines seriously.
DA MPL Bobby Stevenson, who dubbed nationalisation a “bad policy”, said what the ANC should be putting on the NGC agenda was how “we should be dealing with crises in the departments of education and health and how we can improve service delivery”. Read the full story in The Herald.
