The Eastern Cape provincial government improved its audit outcomes for the 2009/10 financial year but Finance MEC Mcebisi Jonas says there is little cause for celebration given the current situation in the Education and Health departments that account for more than 70% of the provincial budget.

Reacting to the audit outcomes, DA finance spokesman Bobby Stevenson said there was “good and bad news. The bad news is that both Education and Health have regressed from adverse opinions to disclaimers. On the other hand the DA welcomes the general improvement in auditor outcomes.”  Read the full story in the Weekend Post.
