With reference to the article titled “Province attacks metro” (The Herald, October 11), the provincial housing department in Bhisho does not have the capacity to take over housing projects from the metro as suggested, writes Dacre Haddon.
This is borne out by the fact that earlier this month an official from the department, who is supposed to be supervising the building of an RDP house in Motherwell, was unable to authorise the work on this project because the department did not have the finances to supply this official with a vehicle or accommodation while in the metro.
