Transnet plans to spend R60-million repairing the grain elevator in the East London Harbour, Economic Development and Environmental Affairs MEC Mcebisi Jonas said.
The DA has welcomed the news of Economic Development and Environmental Affairs spokesman John Cupido saying that although the R60-million fell short of the actual amount needed, “it is undeniably a step forward and in the right direction and has saved over 2000 jobs linked to the existence and functioning of the elevator”.
