YOUR VOTE CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE

Your vote has the power to bring about a change of government on Wednesday and usher in new hope for all the people of the Nelson Mandela Bay Metro. It’s going to be a knife-edge result where every vote will count.

The choice is clear-cut. On the one hand one can continue to walk the path of poor service delivery, corruption and maladministration which is destroying opportunities.

On the other hand we can all join hands and walk the path of building a better society for all the people in this metro, from Kleinskool to Kwazakhele, from Motherwell to Missionvale and from Salt Lake to Summerstrand.

The path to prosperity, jobs and improved service delivery that the DA offers is not an empty promise but one grounded in the reality of our track record in government in Baviaans, Cape Town and beyond. Where there is no corruption, where government has the honest intentions to serve all the people, investors come, jobs are created and people are willing to pay for their services because they get better value for their money at lesser cost. Everyone benefits.

Let us by way of example think of Airport Valley in Walmer Township which is surrounded by well-serviced suburbs. There are six working taps for 2 000 households in this informal settlement, bucket toilets that are not always emptied weekly, high mast lighting that has been out of order for eight months and no formal electricity. People don’t have to continue living in these shocking circumstances.

If all DA supporters come out to vote, life for everyone in the Nelson Mandela Bay can change for the better. Lend us your vote and give us the chance to show what a difference the DA can make for all the people. Let’s make it happen on Wednesday, 18 May 2011.
