This last week DA MPL’s visited the Inxuba Yethemba Municipality where a meeting was held in Craddock. It was also attended by Councillors from Ikwezi and the Chris Hani District Municipality.
Donald Smiles, constituency MP was also present. From there we moved to Somerset East where we met with Councillors from the Blue Crane area. At these meetings, very important issues are raised for us to take up in the Legislature and with the Provincial Government. It is by building a closer working relationship with councillors that we can make a bigger impact.
Earlier on the caucus has also had meetings with all the councillors from nine Transkei Municipalities, Buffalo City, Camdeboo and Baviaans. As caucus leader I was also invited to address all Nelson Mandela Bay Municipality Councillors and as a result of that successful engagement, DA MPL’s will be invited on a regular basis to address the caucus.
