I REFER to the article “SACP in E Cape defends BCM manager” (November 7).
It is interesting that MPL Xolile Nqatha seems to want to protect his SACP comrade Andile Fani in this matter.
There is doubt in the public domain over the validity of Fani’s qualifications.
This doubt has been raised in the media and by the South African Qualifications Authority and the local government Seta.
What is needed quite simply, is for Fani to produce the qualifications and if all is in order, get them properly verified and moderated.
If he has nothing to hide, then he should produce these results and the matter can be cleared up.
Why can’t these qualifications be made public?
Why is Fani wanting to challenge the matter in court?
It would appear there is more to this than meets the eye and the issue needs to be investigated.
I will be writing to the MEC for Local Government Mlibo Qoboshiyane seeking clarity on this issue.
