Tell us your plans, MEC

THE closure of the Algoa Frail Care Centre and Lorraine Frail Care Centre is shrouded in a veil of secrecy by Nancy Sihlwayi, MEC for Social Development in the province.

As a caring DA provincial government-in-waiting, we would most definitely have dealt with this issue in a much more caring, inclusive, open and transparent manner, unlike what is currently unfolding haphazardly.

Let’s be clear here. The affected parties cannot be held hostage by fear of the unknown.

They have a right to information to enable them to plan for the lives of their loved ones accordingly.

The DA calls on MEC Sihlwayi to lift the veil of secrecy and to stop dispersing selected information. Break the silence and tell us about the plans you have for the most vulnerable of our society.

The MEC must do the right thing: that is to ensure that there is much greater transparency regarding this entire matter before the end of this month. — Kobus Botha MPL, Shadow MEC for Social Development, Bhisho
